SEPTEMBER 12, 2000
Hi, it's been a while since my last post. I have been sick, but no
it doesn't have anything to do with my surgery.  I am now officially
9 months out, I have been in my goal range now for a couple months
and I consistantly hold this 5lb range.  I stay between 126 and 131.
It's a good range for me. I don't really do anything to stay here. It's
just a wonderful thing, my surgeon was right, my body will know
where to stop. I did get all my long hair cut off yesturday. Yes, I did.
I have never had short hair but 1 other time in my life and I hated it
but my hair was so thin and horrible looking I had to do somthing.
I checked with a couple beauty people and they all suggested
a cut.  The good news is, it appears the nioxin, the vitamins and
time have all played a roll, by cutting of the hair I had at the time
of surgery, my hair now looks fuller, more healthy and I am not
having such signifigant fall out, infact I would say very little
has came out since the cut and that's a major improvement.
The hair dresser said that I have such thick  new baby hair
coming in right next to my scalp so hopefully I will have great
hair again soon. As far as food and nutrion, I can now honestly
say that there probably isn't much I couldn't tolerate if I choose
too. But I simply don't, I do allow myself a treat now and then,
and I don't beat myself up over it either,  I still don't do
refined sugars, carbination, or caffine or fried foods.
. That's my choice.  I don't think there is any meat
or dairy problems.  If there is somthing I really want I see
if it's available in sugar free, if not I totally limit the intake.
My portion sizes are dramatically differant than just 5 months
ago, I now eat almost a normal human size, when I say that
I mean, I eat 1/2 a 4oz. fillet mignon, 1/3 baked potatoe,
and 1/2 a dinner roll, and 1/2 of a side salad, this is a
LOT of food compared to what I used to eat,  and I do eat
very slow and don't drink with my meals.  It takes me
around 1 hr 15 minutes to complete the meal above,
I am more than happy with my results, and can't believe I
am so quickly approaching 1 yr out.  I wish everyone
much sucess, and hope them all the best.

Sept 21, 2000

Ok this is it !! I can't hardly believe what I am
about to type.  Yesturday my also post op friend
Darcy and I a went trapsing aroudn town, we went to
an upscale fancy smancy type clothing store. woo hoo.
well I saw this little dress I really like and it was a size 6,
knowing that I currently wear a 4 or 6 I was sure it would fit
and possibly be a bit big. Well I coulnd't even zip the thing
past my waist, I was crushed, absolutely crushed.  NOW
let me clarify before I start getting hate mail about complaining
that a six is too small, my goal was to be a size 14 or 16, that's
all I wanted out of this surgery.  But you get really used to
wearing a specific size, and in my mind I look like a size 10 or
12 so I am happy with the way I look, I don't think I look too thin
but I don't wanna loose anymore weight, so when I tried on that 6
and it wouldn't budge I was hyrsterical. ACK, complaining loudly
all around this upscale snooty store.  Darcy suggested I try on an
8 or maybe 10 in that style I refused to budge.  I wandered around
the store mooping about and whining.  I came across somthing
I had never seen before, it was a pair of size 2 shorts. LOL.
Now I had heard tails of there being humans that could wear that
sort of thing, those super model types that live off lettuce.
So to get myself back in a good mood, I grabbed them loudly
proclaiming if I get a size 2 past my knees I will consider this
day a sucess. I went to the fitting room, they went past my ankles
they went past my knees, they went past my hips, they went around
my waist, I could button them !!!!!!! ACK !!!!!!!,  yes they were
so tight that if I were to have exhaled the button surely would have
flown off at such a speed to put somones eye out, so I held in my
breath as I screamed from the fitting room. OMG THESE
SIZE 2'S ACTUALLY FIT ME !!!, i ran from the dressing room
in this upscale fancy smancy store, in the way too tight size 2 shorts
and my camosole (yes no shirt)  I ran about the store in delight stopping
every shopper and causing much greif to the sales clerks, I didn't care.
9 months ago I wore a size 24 /26 yesturday I put on a size 2????
Is this humanly possible???  I don't think I ever met a size 2 ???
I don't look that small??? Puzzled, and curious the delight turned into
disbelief, I went back to the fitting room and disrobed and redressed in
my clothes, I checked the tag on the shorts atleast 10 times. Yes it said
size 1/2 wich means 1 or 2, not half. ok then why didn't that size 6 dress
fit???? Now angry by the fact I was almost depressed I grabbed that 6 dress
and stomped to the counter, I started complaining that why would I wear
an 8 or 10 in one style and a 2 in another??? The answer was simple
the salestaff were laughing, the dress was a childs size 6 LOL.
Yes I am a moron LOL.  Ok well that explains it all then huh?
Now I am not going to rush out and buy a bunch of size 2's
I have no need to be a size 2, I like being a 4ish 6ish.
Plus I am actually tired of finding clothes I like only to
shrink out of them. So I am staying my size. The 2 was
way to tight for me to funtion in, but it was a fun experiment.
I considered purchasing them just to have them bronzed
or to take a photo of the tag and me in them and save
it. But alas I am far too much of cheapskate to buy
somthing I have no intention of ever wearing, and since
I don't plan on loosing any more weight I will NEVER
wear them.  But it sure made my day.
